Actress Camryn Manheim: A Beginning Poker Player

Camryn Manheim is not like other Hollywood celebrities who have been playing poker for years. Camryn Manheim is a novice but she has been showing impressive moves ever since the first day she sat in front of a poker table.

Born on March 8, 1961 in Caldwell, New Jersey, Camryn Manheim was born Debra Frances Manheim. She is a degree holder, having earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1984 and a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the New York University in 1987.

It was in the television series "The Practice" where the acting talent of Camryn Manheim was really recognized. She portrays the role of lawyer Ellenor Frutt in this television show - a role that earned her an Emmy award.

She is surely one of the best actresses because when she did the television series "Elvis," she earned Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for best supporting actress.

Now, Camryn Manheim is more popularly recognized as a cast member of the television series "Ghost Whisperer." She portrays the role of Delia Banks in this television program. She was included in the cast only in 2006, after the character being portrayed by actress Aisha Tylyer died in the final episode of the first season.

Aside from acting, she is also an activist of human rights, focusing on gay rights and women's rights. She has been seriously involved with charitable work, notably for her generosity to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network anti-sexual assault organization in the United States. Aside from such charitable institution, she also donates to the Bet Tzedek Legal services - The House of Justice, which is a charity based in Los Angeles, California.

When she is not busy acting or doing charitable work, she interacts with her fans through her own Web site. She also spends bonding time with her son Milo Jacob. And when she is not doing any of these things, she takes time improving her skills in playing poker.

Well, she always knew how to play poker, but she admitted that she is a novice when it comes to competitive poker playing. When she joined the show's Tournament 5 Game 4, everyone watching was in awe to see this female celebrity poker player as the last one to be beaten by celebrity poker player Colin Quinn.

This female celebrity poker player also joined Tournament 7 Game 5 of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" and was once featured on the World Poker Tour.
